Carisma

Trained by Jens Fredricson, Carisma got spotted by Ludo Philippaerts when she won a 1.30m class at the Spring Tour in Lummen. Two years later, she arrived in Belgium to be ridden by Olivier Philippaerts, who was only 16 years old then. ‘At that time, she was the best horse in the world to me’, he said. At the European Championships for Young Riders in Jardy in 2010, they won both; the gold medal in the individual competition and bronze in the team competition. After this achievement, Carisma was sold to the Danish rider Emilie Martinsen, with whom she finished in the top 30 of the World Cup final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. 2013 was a new start for Carisma as she joined Danielle Goldstein and jumped in countless successful Grand Prix competitions. They also took part in the World Equestrian Games of 2014 in Caen, and the following year they finished 20th at the European Championships of 2015 in Aachen.

Before her jumping career, Carisma had already given birth to one foal: the one and only Qurint, by Quite Easy.

This mare started her sport career at the Philippaerts’ stables, before being sold to the USA to perform at the highest level. She competed in the Nation Cup under Hayley Waters and together they also gained their spot in the Grand Prix 4* level.

The mother of Carisma, Maratonia, has already given birth to no less than six international horses. Toscana (Tornesh), for instance, jumped in the 1.50m class under Keri Pessoa, and Carisma’s full sister, Canergie, jumped at Grand Prix level under the Canadian flag.
